Medium translucent ruby with garnet edges. Nice earthy nose with very positive fruit and strong oak. Dark cherry preserves, North African spice, wilted floral and banana peel.
Entry round and full, with more intense spice, a lovely acid and soft tannin. A very nice Grenache. Easy to drink and no significant flaws other than the gigantic oak.
We were just talking about a certain wine the other day and the winemaker turns out was the winemaker for Curtis and I made a note to try some Curtis and now I can not remember what the wine was. But this is indeed an impressive straight-Grenache offering.
