Dark ruby with thin clear edges. Somewhat dense and staining. Immediate clean mint and euc tempered with dark wet leather, cassis and less oak than I expected from the label. This is a Michael Pozzan imprint–though it is in the fine print–and in the past I have not been particularly complimentary of his proprietor-labelled, BevMo-darling, Napa cab offerings. But this one. Clean and focused but genuine enough to not feel miserably manipulated. Definitely not over-stuffed. In the mouth, more clean brightness, perfectly balanced. Beautiful fruit and lovely briar notes. Thin, green tannin.
