Ruby with wide amber edges. Warm, flabby burnt unctuous roundness of a roasted meat sort, hot oil and volatile. An abrasive high note of MEK or rotten vegetal punctuates. Slowly, it breathes in spicy interest, but quickly falls to fat depths. I have been a fan of this wine numerous times but this is a shocking counter. In the mouth, thin and uninteresting. A simple bright fruit greets and then the whole thing heads South into dis-agreeable tannin.
