Clear beautiful crazy light with the glow of amber. Solid stemmy mash of broken weeds and a wisp of baby-powder and cedar-closet. Maybe even moth-balls? Much more delicate than some recent new-world Chinon-esque bottles I have had–a positive meld of soft mints and briars fully across bouquet but nothing obliquely prominent.
In the mouth, more delicacy: a beautiful clear thin perfectly-arranged series of truly refreshing fruit airy enough head into Gamay territory but enough discipline to remind you it is Cabfranc. Holy wow this is a gorgeous wine.
Bright, light boysenberry, a nice chunk of green wood turning Welch’s Grape and equally bright, bitter tannin. Well-distributed, you should have no problem finding this wine at better shops.
