Visiting an old standard: Eberle Steinbeck Vineyard Syrah. Smells like France–Tastes like Paso. Stunning chalk limestone gunpowder burnt rubber with a funky drrrrrty old world cruise in the Brettmobile. In the mouth, subdued fruit, trading in brilliance for ripeness, but maintaining a streak of acidity and more minerality quite lacking in most Paso Syrah. Would smash. Don’t forget about Eberle, folks. Might teach you kids something.
2014 EBERLE Syrah Steinbeck Vineyard Paso Robles

Good to see this. I forget about Eberle but have appreciated their classic style. I’ll re-visit.
