Here’s a FIRST. I’ve been a die-hard fan of this producer for 30 years, all the way back to when the winery was open to the public. It was my first mailing list for futures I ever joined (the cash-cow called ‘Wine Club’ hadn’t been invented yet). I’ve drank hundreds of these wines over the years of all varieties. This is the first Dehlinger wine I have ever been disappointed with.
A rosy little flabby chub in the nose. And that’s about it. A chubby little rosy flab in the mouth. And that’s about it. There’s no fruit, no acid, no tannin, no spice, no nothing. And the worst of these ills is of course fruit. Boring and lifeless, no amount of air or age can solve this.
