“To be nobody but yourself in a world which is doing its best, night and day, to make you everybody else – means to fight the hardest battle which any human being can fight; and never stop fighting.”
Oh ya sure, I love seeing the massive lineups of bling bottles, but this year for #thanksgiving I opened basically $75 worth of wine. All last-minute cellar-grabs, nothing planned… Everything bangin and delivered with nary a flaw. Giusti Asolo Prosecco DOCG tight and lush and perfect as usual, Kermit Lynch Beaujolais-Villages a ridiculous nutty-butter razor-knife of verve and dirty sex, and an orphan of 1998 Villa Mt. Eden Grand Reserve drinking just about ideal for a 98 at this juncture, gobs of leather, crushed velvet, rusty springs and Maraschino fruit. Not too much excitement left, but beautiful. Bricking less than I expected, still tangy but tannins polished nicely.
“In any moment of decision, the best thing you can do is the right thing, the next best thing is the wrong thing, and the worst thing you can do is nothing.”
