One of the cleanest, most streamlined Chiantis I’ve experienced. Taut and lively, writhing in acid, dark cherry nose bolstered with just the right amount of horse-stall and their accompanying muddy puddles of worn straw. Tall rubber boots, streaked with lovely bits of shit, the sharpness with which the bright fruit encompasses all the earthiness is stunning.
The bright ruby clarity translates straight across to the tongue, grippy with abrasive walnut-skin tannin, rose hips drying things out in the most floral way the astringency can. And still all that beautiful ripe fruit chugs on–cutting the angst of things in only the way good Sangiovese does. Beautiful from start-to-finish, one of those wines you just CAN’T find fault with–hard as you search. I could literally drink this every day.
