Warm and rotund, slight briar surfacing through the nose while chubby Paso fruit delivers the aplomb expected. Bricking heavily in the glass, a 5YO cab should be more structured but hey… that’s Paso.
Mellow rich fruitiness passes over the palate, the Merlot aspects of which are inarguable. No tannin to speak of and everywhere: deep rich flabby fruit, a passably-enjoyable wine if you don’t look too hard. Defintely showing the *bad* side of cheap–almost home-wine–aspects of a bordeaux-blend, surely a state-fair winner but coming up far short of anything considered “world-class”.
