Black ruby with bright purple edges. Heavy tartarates visible. Big typical Spanish funk and fruit-forward-ness. Dark cherry lurking and considerable nice oak. Settles down nicely in the glass to more ripe fruit and walnut-acidity. Acids take over the early- and middle-mouth, drying everything out into the finish but with round, nice fruit keeping pace throughout. I am not the hugest fan of Spanish wines, but this is a nice little bottle–well crafted and balanced, perfect for mealtime. 5 or 6 dollars at Grocery Outlet, so definitely the QPR is up there. Not a whole lot going on, but quite enjoyable through-and-through. 13-5 ♦
