Oh boy this smells like Spain. Deep dark gritty back-alley must and funk and dried sweat, coarse wool, crazy confiture and conifer going along the lavender saline, sagebrush trail.

In the mouth, juicy fruit–no not Juicy Fruit, just juicy fruit–peppery and dank simultaneously, a gunpowder bomb gone off in an engine-room ships-hold: wading in saltwater with oily residue clinging to the tongue and palate–ridiculously spicy, a touch of heat with thick rich appeal begging another swirl and sip. NO! This isn’t Rioja. This is TORO!! There’s no oak-mandated ills here. This is American oak! All in a sub-10€ bottle of wine.

@lastbottlewines had their year-end marathon sale yesterday to clean out all their TRULY last bottles. Did you score? My credit card will never forgive me. And THIS is the type of thing you can expect.
