Nice medium ruby with a big ratchety nose of young unassumption and dank fruit. Blitheringly funky, layered in caramel and barnyard but neither of those can quell the outstanding raspberry and shrill citrus. They try–OMG they try–and the beautiful horse-stall and raw gutter create a queasy airline nascence calming and invigorating at once.
In the mouth, the little screw-top Sicilian scrapes the hot hillsides for their mineral benefits and their warm festivity. Delightfully bitter over the middle, acid screaming for attention and simple thin fruit clinging for dear life through mouth-wiping studies of watered-down pluot obsolescence as brilliant tannin takes hold, making the finish a one-dimensional study of grate.
A stunning little wine for the money.
